Black Pen Oil
Carefully trace Tiger onto your choice of china. Pen the lines in with a black pen oil LIGHTLY. See the picture as to what you would pen in and around. Every tiger has a different pattern of black stripes on him. Try not to pen in any heavy pen lines..If your penning is done lightly you won't see the lines after your painting if finished. Pen around the tiger with fine little lines just to keep your pattern. Pen around the black stripes of your tiger. Fire at 018 |
Body: Paint in all the areas, Except the White areas, with a Yellow Brown. Eyes: Paint the whole eye with a Gold color. No black pupil at this time Nose: Red Brown. Paint it light.... Now that has been easy so far, right? Background: Add Background color at this time if you so desire. I used Rich Brown.. Place your Rich Brown color right next to the outside of the tiger. Wipe out, with your wipe out tool, any fur hairs needed into the back ground on this fire. Fire 018

Eyes: Paint Black in the center of the Gold painted area for the Pupil. Leave some gold area showing... Body: Paint in the Fur area with an Ochre wash. Wipe out the Light Brown highlight areas (like on the tip of his nose and In front of his ears and back.) Continue to look at the picture to see where to wipe out highlights. Body: Shade behind the black strips with Rich Brown. Wet on wet, blending the rich brown with your already placed wet Ochre color and blend. Whiskers: Don't forget to Wipe out the whiskers before you fire. Nose: Deepen with Red Brown again and wipe out a small highlight on the top of the nose holes. There is a highlight on Top of the nose too. Soften all wipe outs.. Stripes: Paint in all the Black Stripes, and around the eyes, and nose holes last. Fire 018 That was fun so far wasn't it? Repeat all of the second fire colors as needed on your next Fires...Fire: 018 Wipe out the whiskers.... * I put a wash of a Blue Gray color on the body of the third tiger picture in the study. Add this wash on the last fire if you like a softer look.
* Tip: If you would like to soften the white glaze look on the white area of
your tiger, you can paint a wash of Ivory on him on the last fire also. |
