Butterfly necklace by Marci Blattenberger |
Start with a laser cut resist butterfly . ( available through me ... marci@ppio.com ) The laser cutting gives them a very delicate look . |
They already have glue on them .. so just peel them off the backing paper and apply to the china. Make sure they are stuck down well |
Pounce over the laser cut with paint from your palette. I used black paint. |
Take a paper towel and wipe off every trace of te paint. You dont want to leave any paint showing on the china. |
Using a pin or needle tool , pull up the sticker carefully . You will have a "penwork" outline of the butterfly
remaining. Fire You can stick the butterfly laser cut onto a foil covered piece of cardboard to use again. The glue is good for several sticks .. and hten after that you can use spray glue. |
Cover the body of the butterfly , a few of the wing areas and the edge of the piece with Liquid Bright Gold. Fire |
Cover the wings with orange luster and the background with Mother of Pearl or Mardi Gras.( Its difficult to capture the look of the Mardi Gras with a carmera) Fire |
